Newcastle United confirm details of Carabao Cup celebration on 29th March - Register now

Newcastle United are planning a big celebration after lifting the Carabao Cup on Sunday having asked fans to keep the 29th March free.

Details have been in short supply but earlier this week it was reported that the club would be looking to put on an event on the Town Moor instead of an open-top bus parade.

This morning the club has indeed confirmed that there will be an event on the Town Moor on Saturday 29th March from 4pm - 8pm.

The announcement from the club makes no mention of a bus parade, so while many fans were hoping they would do both, it seems they're just going with the Town Moor idea.

As part of the announcement this morning, the club has asked fans to register their interest ahead of the event, giving members an early chance to put their names forward today, while everyone else can register tomorrow.

The event will be free to attend, but the club wants to get an idea of the numbers ahead of time.

Details are still a bit sketchy, either things haven't been 100% confirmed or the club wants to keep everything a surprise on the day.

What we have been told is that it will be like a mini-festival which will be closed out by something created by Sela, as we suspected.

"Set around a large main stage on the Town Moor, adjacent to the Great North Road, the open-air event will be free to attend. Supporters are asked to register their interest to assist with planning.

"It will feature a DJ, live band, 'Road to Wembley' highlights, a screening of the full cup final and special guests.

"The team will then proudly lift the Carabao Cup on stage - presenting the club's first domestic trophy for 70 years to the city.

"The celebrations will close with a spectacular show from club partner Sela and further event details will be published ahead of the show."
