Newcastle United star striker Alexander Isak is set to sign a new long term contract at the club as early as next month, according to reports.
The Sweden international has enjoyed the best season of his career on Tyneside, scoring 25 goals in all competitions including 21 in the Premier League making him the first Newcastle player to score more than 20 goals in a single campaign since Alan Shearer in 2003/04.
After his record-breaking season, there has been interest from Chelsea and Arsenal who are looking to bolster their attack for the upcoming season.
A fee of £115million was reported but it means nothing with the 24-year-old seemingly happy to remain in the Toon.
With the Magpies failing to make it successive seasons in Europe despite a seventh-placed finish last season, Isak should be staying in Newcastle for the foreseeable future according to GIVEMESPORT.
There were fears that big-name players could be forced to leave due to a lack of European football. Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes was one player fans feared could leave but after his £100m release clause expired those afraid can sleep a bit easier.
Newcastle are still struggling with complying to the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules however, and may be forced to sell before any big names can be brought in.
Gambian international Yankuba Minteh looks set to depart the club with solid interest from Everton and Ligue 1 side Lyon.
The Magpies have already begun their summer recruitment drive, signing defender Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth and bringing in several academy prospects.
It has been heavily reported that Newcastle are in the market for a striker who would be happy to act as backup for Isak throughout the season with Callum Wilson's departure seeming imminent after posting a cryptic message on social media.
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is an option which would involve a PSR-friendly swap deal between the Englishman and Minteh.
Talks broke down earlier this week but reports yesterday suggested that the 27-year-old could still be in a Newcastle shirt before the beginning of next season.
