Newcastle have finally agreed a fee with Leicester City for 25-year-old winger Harvey Barnes, with David Ornstein of The Athletic reporting that it is in the region of £38 million.

Ornstein states that personal terms are "not expected to be an issue", with most outlets having already claimed that Barnes has agreed on terms with Newcastle. Indeed, it has been the fee that has been the sticking point, but it seems the deadlock has finally been broken.

Barnes was Leicester's top scorer last season with 13 goals, but could not prevent the Foxes from being relegated to the Championship. Eddie Howe is said to be a keen admirer of the right-footed left-winger, but a deal between Newcastle and the East Midlands club has been hard to come by.

The news of Allan Saint-Maximin's departure to the Saudi Pro League seems to have helped things reach a conclusion now though, with the fee for Maxi seemingly very similar to the one reported for Barnes.

A very different sort of player to our mercurial Frenchman, Barnes is a master of the give-and-go (one-two) and is an excellent finisher off either foot. Perhaps not a traditional winger in the sense that he doesn't live to beat his man and deliver a cross, before this past season he was adept and making assists for his Leicester teammates.

All-in-all, the Burnley-born wide man will leave Leicester having made 187 appearances, scoring 45 times and delivering 32 assists. Here's a highlight reel of his time at The King Power Stadium:

We think he'll do just fine in Howe's 4-3-3.
