Yesterday it was revealed that the Adidas store in New York was already displaying the 2024/25 Newcastle United away shirt.

There is still no official release date for the kit but fans have been well aware of the design for a while now, so seeing the shirt on a mannequin in the Adidas store was merely confirmation rather than a mind-blowing leak.

Similarly, Newcastle fans have seen leaks of the third kit circulating for some time so are aware of the green, white and black colour scheme along with the return of the NUFC badge from the 1980s.

Now, though, fans have been given a closer look at the shirt after JD Sports website in Australia accidentally posted the shirt on their site ahead of release.

We can see more detail in the kits up close

Once again, thanks to The Kitman website, who managed to lift the images before the error was corrected, we get to see a bit more detail on the shirt than we have seen so far.

While The home shirt's black and white stripes on the replica version at least, are plain, you can see on the third kit that the material has a pattern to it, similar to the one in the more expensive player's home shirt.

Again, like the away kit in New York, there's no sign of the shorts, but we can expect the same design as was seen in many an international kit at the Euros with the swipe up the side that joins with the swipe on the side of the shirt, which in this case is green.

We love the Adidas nostalgia bait

Surely there's not long to wait until the away and third kits get their official launch. Unless the club are being wily and waiting until the end of the month - payday - for maximum wallet damage.

The third kit, like the away shirt, is a callback to a previous Adidas Newcastle shirt, although perhaps not one as iconic as the away shirt which we expect will sell very well just based on nostalgia alone.

Adidas really know what they're doing, don't they?
