We won't find out the official starting lineup for Newcastle United's game against Burnley at Turf Moor today until 2pm, an hour before the 3pm kick-off.

Eddie Howe has to cobble together a defence after losing Fabian Schar to injury, but at the other end of the pitch, the gaffer has some big calls to make.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon are practically nailed-on to start this afternoon, but it's who takes up that third forward role that Howe needs to decide.

We're expecting/hoping he goes with Harvey Barnes on the left with Gordon on the right, but Howe does love him some Jacob Murphy who could be picked ahead of Barnes.

Miggy is likely to be involved in some capacity today

Miggy has teased his return on Instagram

To add an extra layer of complication to things, £21million winger Miguel Almiron has returned from injury and is available for selection today.

In fact, the Paraguayan has hinted at his involvement by posting an Instagram reel featuring himself and the match details.

We suspect Miggy will be on the bench after being missing since the breathtaking win over West Ham, but having him back gives us that little extra edge.

Miggy's energy could be massive for Newcastle

Bringing on Miggy late in the game could be huge for Newcastle as his relentless energy up against tired legs could really swing things in our favour.

Howe has the options up front today with Callum Wilson also likely to be on the bench as well as whomever out of Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes doesn't make it into the starting lineup.

It's at the back where the problems are, and that means our midfield are going to have to really put the effort in today.
