It has probably not escaped your notice that England has gone a bit mental lately in the wake of the devastating events in Southport.

The North East certainly hasn't been immune to the flaring tensions with Sunderland and Hartlepool both falling victim to these weapons-grade idiots using country-wide tensions to serve their own thuggish agenda.

We know it's probably not wise to get political here, it's not the place for it, but honestly, we're just so fed up that if you're of the mind to never read our stuff again based on what we say here, we don't want you as part of our audience anyway.

Make no mistake, what happened in Southport has absolutely nothing to do with what these clowns are doing - these are just brainless idiots who have seen the opportunity to riot and loot and have taken it with both hands.

A protest is planned for Newcastle on Saturday

There is another one of these so-called 'peaceful protests' (rioting and looting events) planned for Newcastle on Saturday when the club are hosting two matches as part of the Sela Weekender. The planned protest is now being discussed as a potential reason to call off the event. Look, we get there are those who are genuinely concerned, they've been conditioned to fear people who are different, and they may genuinely want to peacefully protest, but as we've seen elsewhere, these protests are infiltrated by idiots just wanting to throw bricks at police because they've seen them do it in other towns and they think it looks fun.

The protest is set to take place at Grey's Monument in the middle of the city where thousands of fans will be walking around making their way to St James' Park.

Therefore the club and the police are ready to take a zero-tolerance approach and any fans identified as being involved in any unrest will be slapped with a five-year ban.

If you're heading to St James' Park on Saturday please take care

Liverpool and Everton are also taking the same approach, and we dare bet it won't be long before the other 17 Premier League clubs follow suit.

Frankly, five years is nothing, they should get a lifetime ban for putting the windows out in Greggs and making off with a tray of stake bakes.

If you're heading to the double-header on Saturday, you're best off avoiding Grey's Monument if at all possible. Please stay safe and enjoy the football. Much love!
