Before we get into a barrage of transfer stories that kill the mood let's celebrate the launch of the new Newcastle United Adidas kits that officially went on sale in stores and online at 8am this morning.

The new home kits are now on sale and when I went to the site this morning just past 8am it had crashed. A good sign that the new range has already proving popular.

Don't panic though, the site is back up and running and we must say, it looks pretty swanky (do people still say swanky?). The whole site has had a refresh in the last 48 hours and the online store looks amazing with images showing plenty of the kit's details and even a nice little video of Alexander Isak modelling the replica kit.

If one were so inclined and had the money, one could spend a fortune on that store today, the new kits are stunning, the training wear is outstanding and the other ranges are making my wallet weep.

Newcastle and Adidas released a fantastic promotional video last night

The hype ramped up last night when the video announcing the new kit was leaked online forcing the club into an official release, which we imagine was earlier than planned.

However, the buzz online was fantastic with the video being shared around on X, Facebook, WhatsApp and every other way possible, if you didn't see it last night then your friends have let you down and you should find new ones.

As expected there are two versions of the home shirt, the replica and the authentic with a £30 price difference. There are plenty of differences between the two in terms of the fit and materials, but the most noticeable thing off the bat is the collar. The replica sports a ribbed V-neck with the authentic doing away with that part of the design.

The goalkeeper kit has a very old-school vibe

One thing that often gets overlooked when the kit hype kicks off is what the goalkeeper kit will look like and Adidas have gone with an old-school feel with this one.

It is primarily green and yellow but there's an actual design on the front this time. Blue, green and yellow patters reminiscent of the 'keeper kits of yore when designs were a little bit more outlandish.

All in all, it's a pretty good day to be a Toon fan if you've got money to burn. If not, then the pictures are nice and worth looking at, that's what I'm doing.
