Newcastle United's Kieran Trippier has reportedly said he wants to leave the club before the close of the transfer window.

Tino Livramento is Eddie Howe's first choice for right-back for the new season leaving Trippier to ride the bench, something that he's not willing to do in the twilight of his career, which is understandable.

Trippier was linked with a move to Bayern Munich in January which didn't come off and rumours of a move to Saudi Arabia have persisted for months, but at the moment it looks like Everton could be his next destination with the Toffees reportedly keen on securing a loan deal for the 33-year-old.

Shortly after the news broke today, Sean Dyche had his pre-match press conference where he was asked about the links with Trippier.

Sean Dyche was fairly coy when asked about Trippier

The two have worked together before when a much younger Trippier was on the books at Burnley so Dyche knows the type of player he'd be getting, but he insists that Trippier is just one of a few people they're looking at, as relayed by Liverpool World.

“He’s one of many names that have come up here; as if by magic his name has come up when we haven’t got a right-back, it’s funny isn’t it? The club seems pretty steadfast with the business that we’ve done, shifting sands of football - who knows what could happen? Generally, I think it’s in a place where everyone’s said, we are where we are.

“I think it’s unlikely [when asked about more signings] we’ve brought in players who we think can develop into the Premier League, they are not all game ready straight away but we think they’re good players. If you take Tim’s [Iroegbunam] record he had about two league games’ worth of minutes last season, Jesper [Lindstrom] about eight and Iliman [Ndiaye] about 17, there’s a long way to go to get up to full Premier League speed.”

Dyche has downplayed the club's interest in Trippier

Dyche tries to downplay the links claiming that he believes the club's business is done for the summer, but we're sure he wouldn't turn down the opportunity to have Trippier at Everton for a season.

There's only around a week to go until the transfer window closes so clubs will have to act fast if they want to get a deal done for Trippier.

Similarly, Newcastle need to act fast to get in the players they are chasing, too, although acting fast clearly isn't something the club are well versed in.
