Newcastle United may hold the key to an exciting summer signing from a Premier League rival.

Monday night was True Faith's annual live podcast where fans can come and sit in on a chat between the True Faith guys and several journalists who cover Newcastle United.

The event is a retrospective looking at the season just gone as well as thoughts on the direction for the future.

The Telegraph's Luke Edwards was on the panel and he said that he's aware that England international Jarrod Bowen is keen to join Newcastle.

Bowen has been in amazing form for West Ham this season

If true, then Newcastle should waste absolutely no time in approaching West Ham over a summer move for the winger Paul Merson hailed as a 'manager's dream' when picking his England squad for Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old has had another stellar season for The Hammers scoring 16 goals and providing six assists in 34 Premier League games. Those figures jump to 20 goals and 10 assists when you factor in all other competitions from another 10 games.

Bowen has played right wing and centre-forward for West Ham and that kind of versatility could be vital for Newcastle next season.

Newcastle need to act fast if there's any interest

He's not likely to come cheap, of course, but as long as West Ham are somewhat sensible in their valuation there could be a deal to be done.

Of course, if West Ham are truly sensible they'll wait to see if he goes to Euro 2024 and how he gets on there before slapping any kind of price tag on him, which is why it would be in Newcastle's best interest to act fast.

This could be one to keep an eye on as it would be a huge signing for the Magpies.
