The wait is almost over. In just over a month we will be able to get our hands on the new Newcastle United kits from Adidas.
Fans are understandably very excited to see what the German sportswear giant has done with the club's new merchandise.
Kit designs have recently been leaked with people in the know confident on their accuracy, but what's missing from all these leaks is the finer details, the little bits the designers put into the kits to make them unique, those are still under wraps for now.
One man who is in the know is Craig Burglass, a kit designer for over 30 years and a lifelong Newcastle fan who advised Adidas on the new merchandise.
Burglass recently spoke to iNews and he is very excited to see fans reactions to the new kits and other merchandise that Adidas has in store for the club going forward. He's even had a peek at the 2025/26 kits which he called 'absolutely incredible'.
“They’ve incorporated the club’s history into these shirts, they’ve been really, really clever in what they’ve done.
“There was just some advice I have given them – make sure you give the fans what they want. And they’ve given them that.
“I’ve even seen the follow up season as well, which goes to another level. The 2025-26 shirts are absolutely incredible.”
Fans can look forward to a much higher quality of kit than the recent offerings from Castore which have seen many complaints from customers from all clubs that the burgeoning manufacturer is associated with.
As well as the leap in quality, there's a huge leap in revenue too with the outgoing Castore deal said to be worth just £5million a year and the Adidas contract said to be somewhere between £30m-£40million.
With the excitement of having popular brand Adidas back and all of the different clothing lines that will come with it, there is a lot of potential for this new deal to be highly lucrative for the club as they take back control of club merchandising.
