Toon confirm Karius

  • Club finally able to confirm Karius after delay
  • Karius will join on an initial 6-month deal
  • The club retain an option to make it a full year come January
  • Karius joins after Darlow picked up a long-term injury in training
  • Karius was released from Liverpool in the summer, having not featured for them all season


NUFC Trust announces 1892 Pledge Scheme charities distribution

  • 1892 Pledge Scheme was set up as a way to buy a portion of the club from Ashley
  • At the time, it was stated that if the club was sold they would try to buy a part of it
  • However, due to the Saudi takeover going through, the 1892 Pledge Scheme will now go to charity
  • The money is proposed to be split among four charities as shown below:
  • The Alan Shearer Foundation - £83,500
  • The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation - £59,000
  • The Newcastle United Foundation - £30,000
  • The Bede Foodbank - £27,500
  • The NUFC Trust released a video explaining the news
