Newcastle United regularly release a gallery of images in the run-up to a game showing the players being put through their paces.

It's usually an early indication of when a player is likely to return to action from injury if you can spot them in the gallery somewhere.

However, the club has become pretty clever when releasing their galleries online lately by deliberately leaving out players from the photos who are considered a doubt for the weekend's fixture.

There are spies everywhere, people, and we don't want to go give anything away too early.

Alexander Isak was nowhere to be seen

And we really, really hope that's what's going on with this week's training photos as there's no sign of Alexander Isak in the gallery anywhere.

The Swedish striker didn't come out for the second half against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday after taking a whack to the face.

Sky Sports' commentary team relayed that the club's medical staff were struggling to stem the bleeding from Isak's nose and that's why he was switched out.

Eddie Howe said that Alexander Isak had a problem with his eye on Sunday

After the game, however, Eddie Howe revealed that Isak was actually having problems with his eye.

We've not had an update since and fingers have been crossed that he'll be okay to play against Fulham on Saturday, but his absence from the training photos is a worry.

Again, we just hope it's the club being cute about it and trying to give Fulham false hope, but with Callum Wilson still injured and our only other striker not yet having played a single minute of competitive football for the club, it's definitely a worry.
