Reaction to another impressive win

Journos' round-up

Newcastle spent this summer looking for a winger with better end product. If you had asked supporters a year ago, Almiron would have been a player happily sacrificed, even if they have always appreciated his honesty and work ethic.
Howe was convinced Almiron had not been used in the correct areas - he spent a period as a central midfielder under Steve Bruce - and so set about coaching and re-programming the South American.
  • George Caulkin and Chris Waugh sum-up the first year of Howe in seven key matches: Brentford, Leeds, Southampton, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton
  • Luke Edwards, post-game, not understanding the manager's transition into full Geordie:
Really pleased for Chris Wood, delighted for Joe Willock, brilliant from Trippier. My only gripe - and I will be taking this up with him - is Eddie Howe taking so long to put a coat on when it’s pissing down with rain. #nufc don’t want him getting ill.
