WEDNESDAY'S ROUND-UP

More Saudi connections revealed

  • Following speculation earlier in the week, it has been confirmed that United have formed a commercial partnership with the airline Saudia
  • It will be the club's 'Official Tour Airline Partner' when the side visits the Middle-East in December
  • Saudia is the nation's 'flag carrier:' an airline which is subsidised or owned by the country in which it is registered
  • The partnership has also brought-about a new website, which enables fans to enter competitions: Saudia-NewcastleUnitedFC.com
  • The Magpies play Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia on 8th December
  • More information can be found on the club website

International football returning to St James'?

  • St James' Park has been included in the UK & Ireland's Euro 2028 bid
  • Sunderland's Stadium of Light is also among the stadium list
  • Interestingly, in the north-west, Old Trafford and Everton's new stadium are included but Anfield is not
  • Newcastle's stadium was a venue for Euro 96, hosting three group stage matches: Bulgaria 1-0 Romania, France 3-1 Bulgaria and Romania 0-1 France
  • Some nostalgia, as former Chairman Freddie Fletcher discuss the award back in the early 90s:

Fixture news

  • Newcastle's League Cup Fourth Round tie against Bournemouth will take place on Wednesday 21st December at 7:45pm

  • Meanwhile, two fixtures in the New Year have been confirmed as being televised
  • The home game with Fulham (Sunday 15th January, 2pm) and the trip to Crystal Palace (Saturday 21st January, 5:30pm) will both be on Sky Sports

Bruno content

  • United's midfield star has been speaking to the Brazilian press about the club:
On Almiron: "When the crowd is behind him, he can become an amazing player as he has everything. His quality is unbelievable, he's one of the best players I've ever played with. We need to believe in him."
On Trippier and transfers: "Trippier and I were the first to believe in the project, so fans have a special affection. We need players with mentality, it’s not about signing everyone just because we have money. It’s not about bringing Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe.”
  • It also happens to be the lad's 25th birthday

What else?

  • In case you missed it, here is Joelinton's interview with Soccer AM from the weekend
  • Meanwhile, Chris Wood is the subject of a short feature on Eurosport
  • Wood discusses the influence of his family on his football career, some of his most important moves and playing for New Zealand
  • United are smashing the aerial duel stats this season
  • Most dangerous passers this season by zone (Trippier and Willock feature)
  • At the Football Content Awards this evening, some familiar faces are up for honours
  • Adam Pearson is up for 'Best In Video' and 'Best Content Creator,' whilst The Toon Review are also up for the latter award
  • Alan Shearer's Team of the Season so far unsurprisingly features a few Mags:
