Newcastle United has this evening sent out an email to season ticket holders. The email offers season ticket holders a chance to move to the new "Licensed Standing" area of St. James' Park in the South East Corner ahead of the 2023/24 season:

The club has added around 1,800 designated safe standing spaces in the lower section of block B and the upper sections of blocks C, D, E, and F of the South East Corner (between the East Stand and the Gallowgate Stand). The legends at Wor Flags recently shared an update of how the almost-finished area looks on their Twitter account:

In the email, the club explains that there are only a "small number" of safe standing spaces available and that if there is more demand than places available, a ballot will take place.

Season ticket holders interested in relocating to the safe standing area of the South East Corner are invited to complete a Typeform linked in the email and will be contacted by the Box Office within the next seven days to discuss their options if they are successful in their application.

Supporters wishing to move with one or more fellow season ticket holders are politely requested to fill out one form only, as the Typeform asks if people would like to link up with anyone else at the end of the first run-through, repeating the process as many times as is required.

Finally, it's worth noting that the licensed standing area isn't recommended for those of a diminutive stature, most notably children under the age of of 14, due to the high potential of a restricted view.

Maybe we'll hear something about memberships for 2023/24 once this is all sorted out!
