No changes for Eddie Howe to face Aston Villa - Our predicted Newcastle starting XI

Newcastle United come into Tuesday night's Premier League clash off the back of a 2-0 FA Cup victory.

It was a timely confidence boost for the Magpies as they face another away trip in the space of a few days. Away form has been an issue all season for Newcastle and Eddie Howe will be hoping the Fulham victory is the first of many more in the second half of the campaign.

Aston Villa will be out for revenge after Newcastle tonked them 5-1 on the opening game of the season, a game that seems a far cry from where we are now.

The odds are against us but we've overcome worse

Clearly, Newcastle are capable of beating Aston Villa, but current form and home advantage swings this one in Unai Emery's favour.

We expect Eddie Howe to go with the same XI that started against Fulham despite the suggestions that Miguel Almiron will be available. It makes more sense that he'd use him to replace Jacob Murphy late on to fully utilise his energy against tired legs.

Goalkeeper

Martin Dubravka - Dubravka will be hoping for another clean sheet after keeping Fulham at bay on Saturday.

Defence

Kieran Trippier - Tripps came off late on against Fulham with a slight knock, but nothing more has been said about it so expect him to start against Villa.

Fabian Schar - Had another solid game on Saturday. More of the same, please.

Sven Botman - Likewise from Botman who picked up our Player of the Match.

Dan Burn - If the Dan Burn from the second half shows up against Villa we'll be happy enough.

Midfield

Lewis Miley - Can he bag himself a goal to go along with his shiny new contract?

Bruno Guimaraes - Hopefully Howe has had a word with him and woke him up after whatever that display was on Saturday.

Sean Longstaff - May have scored on Saturday, but he's still way off what we know he's capable of. Lack of options will have him starting though.

Forwards

Jacob Murphy - Had to shake off a fair amount of rust on Saturday, but with Miggy just getting over an illness it makes sense to start with Murphy and use Miggy later.

Alexander Isak - Will no doubt be furious he didn't pick up a goal at the weekend so hopefully he can use that hunger.

Anthony Gordon - Another who should be looking for a celebratory goal as the Villa game will come one year and a day since he signed for the Toon.

The quality is definitely there, despite it being a very weakened side, but Aston Villa are going to make a game of this and everyone is going to need to be at 100% for us to stand a chance of getting something out of this game.
