Newcastle United FPL Gameweek 16 Player Guide

Let's take a look at some top prospects from Newcastle United in Gameweek 16. We'll break this article down into three parts; The Safe Picks, Transfer Outs, and Risky Picks.

Gameweek 16 sees Newcastle host Chelsea at SJP for the final game prior to the World Cup. It's been a weird season for Chelsea thus far. With the manager replace, Potter had some initial success. However, when Chelsea can beat Newcastle and not go above them in the league, it gives you an idea of how this season is going. Having won just one game of their last Four, Chelsea are not coming to SJP in a good run of form. Newcastle, however, are the team to beat right now, but with the Fortress on the hill being the location of the fixture, it will be a tough one.

Gameweek 16 Safe Picks

Kieran Trippier

Right now, Trippier might be one of the safest defensive picks in the entire FPL. With this being the final game before the WC, he might be taken off early. However, Howe made it very clear that he's focused purely on Newcastle this Saturday

Miguel Almiron

One of the most transferred in players in the FPL, Miggy is living the dream. Winner of the Player of the Month Award for October, Miggy has set the league alight this season. With just one game left before the break, why not give Miggy a chance, if you've not already.

Bruno GuimarĂ£es

Bruno has shown his class in every game this season, and with a WC spot secured, he'll be up for it against Chelsea. A chance to go up against some of the best midfield players in the league, Bruno will be up for it. The big question is can he bag the points? Well, another goal last week has seen many ask that question. We do know for sure, Bruno has goals and assists in him.

Callum Wilson

Finally, given his chance to go to the World Cup, Wilson will be on cloud nine. While he'll obviously have one eye on the England camp, this is another chance for Wilson to show what he's made of. He wasn't included in the mid-week game due to illness, though Howe said he's going to be a late check. The likelihood is, Wilson has not trained much this week.

NUFC Gameweek 16 Transfer Out

For us, this is purely just about protecting those clean sheet points. This is going to be a hard game, and like Spurs, even a win will likely come with a goal against. The Newcastle backline has been immense this season, but there might be safer options at the back in GW 16

NUFC Gameweek 16 Risky Pick

Joe Willock

Having score last week, Willock has capped off his recent form with a goal, making him a potentially interesting pick for GW16. Chelsea won't be an easy game, however, Willock is a danger on the counter, which might be where he gets his best use

NUFC Gameweek 16 suspended or injured list

  • Wilson - 75% chance to play due to illness
  • Isak - back post World Cup
  • Ritchie - Back post World Cup
  • Krafth - Back late February
  • Dummet - Return unknown
