Newcastle United FPL Gameweek 15 Player Guide

Let's take a look at some top prospects from Newcastle United in Gameweek 15. We'll break this article down into three parts; The Safe Picks, Transfer Outs, and Risky Picks.

Gameweek 15 sees Newcastle travel to Southampton, a side near the bottom of the table and struggling for form. Southampton have only lost twice this season at home (Man U and Everton), with them mostly trying to shut-up shop and play for draws. It will certainly be a challenge for Howe and his in-form Mags, but he'll feel he has what it takes to unlock the Saints. A few things to note early on is that Howe showed against Everton, Spurs, and Villa that he sticks with a winning team. So with that in mind, let's get into the article.

Gameweek 15 Safe Picks

Kieran Trippier

Tripper was one of three Newcastle players in the FPL Team of the Week last week. While we noted his low point tally in GW13, he rewarded those that stuck with him. Away from home this week, Newcastle will be the side expected to attack. We all know this is where Trippier excels, so we expect him to back another good points tally.

Miguel Almiron

One of the most transferred in players in the FPL, Miggy is living the dream. Nominated for the Player of the Month Award (alongside Bruno and Trippier), Miggy is a man on form. How long this form continues is hard to say, but you may as well ride the wave with him as he does.

Bruno Guimarães

Bruno has had an amazing start to the season, and like the Villa game. The Southampton game is one he can dominate. Against “weaker” sides, Bruno is able to dictate play a lot more and with Jonjo possibly coming back it might push Bruno higher up the pitch. Bruno only picked up 3 points against Villa. However, if he plays higher up the pitch, we'd expect that to be higher.

Callum Wilson

The most transferred in player this week, Callum was a points' machine in GW14. With two goals, and two assists, a lot of FPL players will want him to perform again. Against a famously leaky defence in Southampton, it could be another opportunity for Wilson to get in another good performance ahead of the World Cup.

NUFC Gameweek 15 Transfer Out

Joe Willock

Someone is going to take a hit when Jonjo is put back into the first team, and we think it might be Willock. While he isn't picking up the points, he is doing all the right things on the pitch. But, the lack of points, and the threat of being replaced, probably means Willock isn't worth the risk. Though, it is worth noting that Joelinton is out this week, though that likely means Fraser or Murphy make it back to the starting 11.

NUFC Gameweek 15 Risky Pick

Sean Longstaff

At just 4.4m Sean is a cheap option in midfield. Despite that, he's played in every game this season for Howe, and is clearly doing the job Howe is asking him to do. While we don't think Sean is about to earn you double points, he is a fairly consistent points scorer.
