'Keep going': Kevin Keegan gives Eddie Howe brilliant message at book launch event tonight

Kevin Keegan and Eddie Howe shared a stage tonight at the launch of Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves' book "Here to compete".

Howe made his entrance to the stage with Local Hero blaring from the PA system and was warmly greeted by Kevin Keegan who had already taken his seat on stage. Tonight was the first time the two had actually met.

Craig Hope said on X that Eddie joked that he had to come just to meet King Kev.

Keegan said he believes that Newcastle already have the manager to take them to the top in Eddie Howe, and speaking to the current gaffer, Keegan told Howe to brace himself for what's to come.

“Keep going like this, and your life will never be the same again.”

Howe is already well on his way to ascertaining the same legendary status that Kevin Keegan and Sir Bobby Robson hold, and if last season is anything to go by, Howe might just take their feats a step further by finally delivering that elusive silverware.
