Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali's 10-month ban comes to an end today allowing Eddie Howe to select the Italian again from tomorrow.

Sandro Tonali was banned for 10 months for breaching betting rules and today is the final day of that suspension.

The ban came just 12 games into the Italy international's Newcastle career with the Toon Army yet to really see the best of the midfielder as he was just getting up to speed in the Premier League.

With the ban ending today, Eddie Howe is likely to include Tonali in his match-day squad tomorrow as the Magpies take on Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

We expect Eddie Howe to start Sandro Tonali tomorrow night

Sandro Tonali will be part of tomorrow's squad

In his pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning, Howe was asked if Tonali would be in the squad tomorrow despite a lack of match sharpness.

"He'll definitely be in the squad providing he comes through training today.

"He's fit. He just hasn't had the match time, the 11 v 11, which players will tell you is the most important thing within the game. He's done everything else. He's worked incredibly hard with the sports science team to be on top of his fitness and to make sure he's fitter than he was when he was banned."

Howe hinted that Tonali could start vs Forest

Howe was then asked if could start Tonali with the gaffer saying "We can do what we want with him".

The hints were strong that Tonali could find himself in the starting lineup, but it seems that he will be involved one way or another tomorrow.

There's a definite buzz around seeing the King of Wetherspoons back in action after such a lengthy absence.
