"Don't look at me in the tunnel!": Kieran Trippier shares amusing Kylian Mbappé story

Pre-match press conferences can often be quite dour affairs, but Kieran Trippier provided a laugh at this evening's media briefing at St. James' Park when sharing an amusing story about his son's "obsession" with Kylian Mbappé.

Apparently, Trippier Jr. watches clips of Paris Saint-Germain's superstar forward endlessly on YouTube and would rather walk out with him than his dear old Dad on Wednesday evening, which Newcastle's on-pitch captain clearly wasn't best pleased with!

Trippier was speaking alongside Eddie Howe on the eve of his side's game against Paris Saint-Germain and was asked if his son is a fan of Mbappé when giving the answer.

Somewhat more seriously, Keith Downie of Sky Sports inquired about how our number two was planning on dealing with the French international, who will likely be his direct opponent on Wednesday evening. Here's Trippier's typically calm and collected reply:

There's no doubt that Trippier versus Mbappé will be one of the key battles tomorrow and if our man carries on the form he's shown so far this season he has every chance of coming out on top.
