Bournemouth missing several key players for Saturday's game against Newcastle United

Newcastle United are no strangers to an injury crisis this season with the squad missing 14 players through injury or suspension at one point.

However, there is now some light at the end of the tunnel and Eddie Howe is starting to have options available to him from the bench that can actually change a game.

Unfortunately for Bournemouth, they too are feeling the pinch of having a few big players missing at once with no less than five first-team regulars expected to be unavailable for Saturday's clash.

Five players will definitely be missing from Bournemouth's squad on Saturday

A couple of names will be familiar if you've been keeping abreast of Newcastle transfer rumours for the last year or so.

AFC Bournemouth

Philip Billing, who was recently touted as a replacement for Joelinton should things not pan out the way they should on that front, is suspended after picking up a red card in their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, so he will definitely be missing.

Tyler Adams is another player who was linked with Newcastle. Back in the summer, Newcastle were looking at bringing Adams from Leeds but opted against it and he ended up at Bournemouth where he's made just one appearance before picking up a hamstring injury. That injury will keep him out of Saturday's game.

Newcastle should take confidence from Bournemouth missing some big names

Ryan Fredericks has been out of action for almost a year with a calf injury and won't be back for Saturday's game. James Hill, likewise won't recover from his ankle injury in time to face Newcastle.

The last definite absentee for Bournemouth will be Max Aarons, another player who has been linked to Newcastle in the past. Aarons returned from injury in January only to pick up another one which is set to keep him out of action for a few weeks.

Those are some big players for Bournemouth, and although a few of them have been missing for a while now, it still weakens the Cherries in a way that should inspire confidence in the Magpies going into the fixture at St James' Park on Saturday.
