Eddie Howe and the remainder of his Newcastle United squad are in Saudi Arabia for warm-weather training while other squad mates are away representing their respective countries during the international break.

Since the PIF-backed takeover, Newcastle often fly out to the Middle East to take advantage of the facilities and nicer weather, and quite often it has reinvigorated the side ahead of a good run in the Premier League.

The issue that Eddie Howe faces nowadays is that so many of his squad are internationals now that the group he gets to take with him to Saudi Arabia is decreasing year on year.

One player who is missing out this time around is Lewis Hall after the 20-year-old was called up, and ultimately made his debut for England on Thursday night.

Could Lewis Hall be handed a start for England today?

Eddie Howe is delighted for Lewis Hall after making his England debut

Speaking to NUFC TV for the club website, Eddie Howe spoke about the amazing moment for Lewis Hall stepping out for his country on Thursday, calling it a life-changing moment.

"Amazing for Lewis, amazing for his family. A life-changing moment really, I think. So pleased for him, it's come at a really early age in his career, hopefully there's many more to come.

"I thought he did really well when he came on. A high-pressure game as well which is what he's become accustomed to with us, but I thought he handled himself very well."

Lewis Hall could get another chance to shine for England today

England are back in action today at 5pm as they take on the Republic of Ireland and Hall will no doubt be hoping to get more minutes under his belt for the Three Lions.

Interim England boss Lee Carsley has called up Tino Livramento in all three of his squads but never used the right-back yet. With tonight being Carsley's last game in charge, we'll be hoping that Tino gets to make his debut today.

Of course, for us, getting our lads back in one piece is more important than any Nations League-related nonsense, but it would be nice to see our boys representing their country.
