Callum Wilson was the Newcastle United player chosen to face the media for the Champions League press-briefing this afternoon.

The 31-year-old made his return to action on Sunday playing around half an hour against Tottenham, providing an assist for Joelinton's consolation goal late on.

With Callum Wilson now just back from injury and Alexander Isak playing like he's wearing lead boots, Eddie Howe has a choice to make as to who starts tomorrow night.

Wilson is ready to start but has no idea if he will

Speaking the press, Wilson claimed he was 'born ready' and would love to start against AC Milan.

When asked if he was fit enough to start, the striker said (via The Chronicle).

"BORN READY. I feel I'm in a very good place right now."

When asked if he will be starting, he simply said:

"Your guess is as good as mine!"

Wilson wants his first Champions League goal to mean something

The former Bournemouth striker has yet to score in the Champions League having only made his debut in the competition with Newcastle earlier this season, but he said he believes the real reason he hasn't scored yet is that he's waiting for it to mean something.

"It would be an amazing moment. I personally believe it hasn't came yet because it's waiting for a special moment."

Scoring the goal that keeps Newcastle in Europe, in whatever guise, will be as big as it gets, so let's hope he gets his first Champions League goal tomorrow night.
